The calendar said it was the first Sunday of Advent and the décor at the Harley Museum was all Christmas, but the conditions for Group D on November 28 did not represent a typical almost-winter day for the Milwaukee venue. Those who control the warm water discharge must have taken a long Thanksgiving weekend vacation because there was no warm water to be found. Water temperature readings ranged from 46° to 48°. Couple that with a sunny day and a south wind taking air temps to the mid 40's, and you have a recipe for a tough day of fishing.

Nevertheless, Lukasz Bober at peg 5 came through with 5 points and 4 fish weighing 63-1. Among the carp that Luke captured was an excellent 24-7. Frank Rink, fishing from peg 2, caught 7 fish (including a 7-15.5 and a 7-14), but only two fish exceeded 8 pounds. Fortunately for Frank, one of those fish was a hefty 34-12 to put him atop the big carp leaderboard and to get him 4 points for the day with 43-13 for two. The 34-12 fish was caught on a 16mm World Classic Baits anise pop-up boilie.

Ernest Kolodziejczyk had a double run at 8:20 a.m., and he landed both
fish including a very nice 21-7. That double earned him 3 points from
peg 3 with 30 pounds, 9 ounces. Henryk Burza (peg 4) and
Zenon Jastrzebski (peg 1) each had a run or so, but are looking forward
to December 26 to increase
their point totals. Both anglers earned one point. Overall, the fishing
was difficult with only 8 recordable fish caught all day. Quality,
though, was better than quantity with three carp
weighing over 21 pounds. Here's hoping that the warm water gets
discharged back into our
tournament swim soon.
