Zenon Jastrzebski and Paul Sander went to Milwaukee to do prefishing of Winter Carp League 2010-2011. For Zenon that was first time fishing on league venue. This winter is also his first season in professional carp fishing and he already singed up for Winter Carp League this year and he wanted to compete with more experienced anglers in this competition.
I prepared two different flavours of groundbaits from World Classic Baits: one for me one for Zenon just to check which flavour will bring the fish. He start with plain sweet corn and maize on hair rigs, and after little prebaiting (few golf ball size groundbait thrown to water) his sets landed to water.

I picked spot about 150 yards away from Zenon, and after prebaiting I casted my line to the water. Started and fished on World Classic Baits boilies all day. Weather was great sunny morning and all rest of the day with around 55 F.
We started fish around 8.45 am and first fish has landed in the net around 10 am. That was first Zenon's fish from Milwaukee River. Nice 15 lbs fish brought big smile on Zenon's face.
Not even 1 hour later he got another run, and after few minutes fight carp landed in the net.
Third fish of the day was caught by Zenon as well and I started think: he will be hard to beat competitor in Winter Carp League this year even if this is his first season.
After this I got my first run of the day. I landed nice 17 lbs carp. I got another fish on but I lost it after short fight. Right befor 2 pm Zenon have another carp on hook. He caught 4 fish and he is looking forward with hope to start in the league. I had one more fish right before 3 pm and after this we decided to leave. That was good day, not crazy baiting but very decent. I am happy for Zenon because I have seen passion in his eyes when catching those carp after carp. I am sure we have another addicted carp angler here in IL :).
If I have got more answer on my "choice of baits" questions after fishing today??? hmm, I do not think so, I left venue with more question and doubts than answers. But this is a beauty of carp fishing. Can not wait for my turn in Winter Carp League 2010-2011.
